Port of Oakland maritime director resigns
Wilson Lacy has resigned his position as the Port of Oakland maritime director.
Lacy was named to the position in late 2004, just months after coming to the port as director of marketing. He filled a vacancy created when former Maritime Director Jerry Bridges was promoted to the port's executive director post. Bridges left Oakland in November to take over the reigns of the Virginia Port Authority.
Omar Benjamin, current port director, accepted Lacy's resignation on Feb. 26 and named deputy executive director Joe Wong to fill the maritime director vacancy until a permanent replacement can be found.
