Port of Portland brings in new Japan rep
The Port of Portland said Friday it has hired Masaaki Mukouchi as the new director for the port’s Japan office in Tokyo.
Mukouchi began working for the port in mid-April, filling the position previously held by Mineo Yoshimatsu, who is retiring in August after representing the port for 22 years in Japan. In his new role, Mukouchi will represent the port throughout Japan, which is one of Oregon’s largest trading partners. Specifically, he will maintain and develop new business for the port’s maritime, aviation, and real estate marketing initiatives, the port said in a statement. The port shares an office in the Shinbashi district of Tokyo with the State of Oregon.
