The Chicago-based technology company more than doubled its headcount and tripled its office space after securing its first round of outside funding in September.
project44, a Chicago-based provider of web-service application program interfaces (APIs) for the freight industry, said Wednesday that it has more than doubled its headcount and tripled its space with the move into a new office, following a recent $10.5 million series A funding round announced in September.
The funding was provided by two technology-focused venture capital groups, Emergence Capital and Chicago Ventures. project44 is using the funding to drive product innovation and expand its salesforce.
“Our customers see their net income and market capitalization significantly increase as the number of transactions executed through project44 grows,” project44 CEO Jett McCandless said. “Today, over 2.1 million daily API transactions flow through the network. Our plan is to grow this volume at a rapid pace by expanding our API platform into new modes and geographies – ultimately providing our customer’s stronger fiscal results.”
