Purolator International launches intra-U.S. expedited forwarding service

“While we’ve always been a freight forwarder, the bulk of our business has been driven by northbound transportation into the Canadian market,” Purolator International President John Costanzo said of the new service.

Purolator International is launching an expedited forwarding service for domestic U.S. shipments, the company said Wednesday.
The service is available for next-day, two-day, or 3-5 day delivery. For shipments that require a specialized delivery window, Purolator International also offers guaranteed “Elite” service.
“Over the past 20 years, Purolator International has evolved significantly. While we’ve always been a freight forwarder, the bulk of our business has been driven by northbound transportation into the Canadian market,” said John Costanzo, president of Purolator International. “In 2017, I’m committed to expanding our domestic expedited forwarding service to truly become a single source provider for retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors across the United States.”
Based in Jericho, N.Y., Purolator International is the U.S. arm of Purolator Inc., a Canadian firm with $1.5 billion Canadian (U.S. $1.1 billion) in revenues in 2016. Purolator Holdings is 91 percent owned by Canada Post and is Canada’s leading integrated freight and parcel solutions provider. Purolator contributed 19.1 percent of Canada Post’s annual revenues in 2016.
Purolator said a key component of the expedited forwarding service is its “elevated level of personal service called PuroTouch. Every customer has a dedicated contact within Purolator International who evaluates each customer’s business requirements to build solutions tailored to their specific needs, and takes a hands-on approach to transportation management, from the very first call to final delivery. Customers benefit from the flexibility of convenient scheduling including later pickup times, customized handling, and issues management to ensure shipments arrive on time and safely.”
