RAILROAD SAFETY COMMITTEE TO MEET
The U.S. Transportation Department’s Federal Railroad Administration will hold a Rail Safety Advisory Committee meeting in Washington on Sept. 20.
“The meeting will address a wide range of topics, including possible adoption of specific recommendations for regulatory action,” the agency said.
The committee consists of 48 individual voting representatives and five associate representatives drawn from among 32 organizations representing various rail industry perspectives. It also includes two representatives from the Canadian and Mexican government agencies with railroad safety regulatory responsibility. Staff from the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Transit Administration also attend in an “advisory capacity.”
