Report: Stronger enforcement sought for U.S. trade agreements

The Bush administration vowed to take stronger action against countries and overseas industries that violate trade agreements with the United States.

In a new report, the administration recommended the development of a Commerce Department task force to investigate alleged violations and develop strategies to “eliminate them.”

The report also recommended trade agreements that better position U.S. manufacturing and reinforcement of efforts to promote U.S. exports in the global market.
