Report: Worldwide air cargo volumes up 10% in first half
Worldwide air cargo volumes increased 10 percent to 35.8 million metric tons in the first half of this year, the Geneva-based Airports Council International said in its latest statistical report.
For June, worldwide traffic at more than 800 airports totaled 7 million tons, an increase of 14 percent over the same month in 2003.
Airports Council International reported that June traffic at North American airports rose 9 percent to 2.3 million tons, whereas cargo volumes in Asia-Pacific for the same month were up 24 percent, to 1.9 million tons.
