RILA picks Hill aide as supply chain VP
The Retail Leaders Industry Association on Friday said Allen Thompson is the trade group’s new vice president for global supply chain policy.
Thompson has served since 2003 as a Democratic staff member for the House Homeland Security Committee, where he had primary responsibility for maritime, supply chain and surface transportation security programs. He was an intelligence analyst for the Coast Guard prior to working on the Hill.
Thompson succeeds Jonathan Gold, who joined U.S. Customs and Border Protection in May as a cargo security policy analyst.
RILA represents major U.S. retailers with large import operations and takes an active role in trying to influence cargo security policymaking to minimize shipping disruptions.
