ROADWAY EXPRESS EXPANDS TIME-DEFINITE SERVICE

   Roadway Express Inc., the Akron, Ohio-based motor carrier, has enhanced its Time-Critical Services product, allowing customers to choose specific day and time of shipment delivery — within a one-hour window.

   The company said the options provide greater flexibility and availability by combining speed of transit with precise pickup and delivery times and online capabilities.

   Shippers can choose a precision pickup option that allows the customer to specify the exact one-hour window for freight pickup. If Roadway doesn't meet the service commitment, no invoice is sent.

   Through Roadway's Web site, http://www.my.roadway.com, shippers can get a quote and transit times, schedule pickups, print bills of lading, track shipments in real time and receive e-mails through eTracking on the status of shipment, vie payment history and create customized reports and files for specific business needs, the company said.

   The services are available throughout North America.
