Rolls-Royce acquires Connecticut naval architect
Rolls-Royce has acquired the U.S. naval architecture and engineering firm Seaworthy Systems Inc of Essex, Conn.
Rolls said Monday that the purchase will improve its marine support services. Seaworthy, which also has offices in New Jersey, Virginia and California, employs 58 people.
It has worked with the Navy, Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration, Military Sealift Command, and commercial shipowners.
