Russia launches air mail delivery to remote locations
The Russian postal service has begun the first chartered mail flights from Moscow to Norilsk in Siberia, and Magadan and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in the Far East province, according to a news release on the Russian Information Ministry's Web site.
Uzbek carrier Avia Leasing will operate turboprop aircraft with the Russian postal livery under a charter lease program. The new delivery program is designed to speed up mail delivery to outlying regions of the country.
