Ryder System Inc., the Miami-based supply chain and transportation management provider, said Thursday its first-quarter net income fell 79.3 percent to $4.1 million.
The results included restructuring and other charges of $10.5 million, primarily due to severance and employee-related costs from previously announced downsizing.
Revenue slid 2 percent to $1.28 billion while pre-tax earnings from continuing operations before restructuring and other charges were $17.1 million, down 45.7 percent.
In Ryder's Supply Chain Solutions, division, revenue was down 0.3 percent to $385.3 million, while operating revenue declined 1.5 percent to $285 million.
