SAFMARINE ADDS SHIPMENT INFORMATION TO WEBSITE
Safmarine has upgraded its website by adding cut-off times for vessels and other information needed by shippers and forwarders.
“For the first time, shippers and freight forwarders are able to plan the delivery of their export containers to the port of shipment by accessing up to date information on stack opening and cut off times, from a single web site,” the company said.
Safmarine’s site, at www.safmarine.com, already provided online bookings, schedules, track and trace, voyage exchange rates, and Internet bills of lading.
The Antwerp-based shipping line said that the inclusion of cut-off dates is a first for the industry.
Safmarine said that it has also simplified its e-booking module, added door-to-door routings to voyage enquiries and enhanced track and trace information.
