SAFMARINE ISSUES DETAILS OF NORTH AMERICA/SOUTH AMERICA SLOT CHARTER
Antwerp-based Safmarine, a sister carrier of Maersk Sealand, has released details of a previously announced service between the east coasts of North and South America, scheduled to start Sept. 27.
The service is provided via a vessel-sharing agreement with Maersk Sealand and other carriers, and will operate under two names, Tango and Rumba.
The Tango service will cover a named-day, weekly port rotation of Philadelphia; Newark, N.J; Baltimore; Norfolk, Va.; Charleston, S.C.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Miami; Suape; Rio de Janeiro; Buenos Aires; Rio Grande; Santos; Rio de Janeiro; Miami; Suape (fortnightly); Fortaleza (fortnightly); and Philadelphia (fortnightly).
The Rumba service's named day, weekly port rotation is Paranagua, Sao Francisco do Sul, Salvador, Freeport, Newark, Norfolk, Charleston, Jacksonville, Freeport and Miami.
