SAFMARINE STARTS U.S. GULF/WEST AFRICA SERVICE
From the end of May, A.P. Moller subsidiary Safmarine is starting a one-way multipurpose service from Houston to ports in West Africa.
The new “Jazz Service” will sail every three weeks from Houston to Onne, Malabo, Bata, Port Gentil, Pointe Noire, Malongo, Cabinda, Soyo, Luanda and Lobito.
The service is primarily a breakbulk service, but container capacity is also available on the ships. The vessels will be off-hired in Africa on completion of their single journey.
