Samskip to drop Geest, Seawheel brands
Reykjavik, Iceland-based Samskip will in September drop the names of its European short-sea subsidiaries, Geest North Sea Line and Seawheel, to operate under a single brand.
The Icelandic company bought the Dutch carrier Geest in March 2005, before taking over the United Kingdom-based Seawheel in July.
Early next year, Samskip will transfer all of its international operations into a new building in Rotterdam’s Old Port area.
