Sandler & Travis consulting arm lands Browning
Former U.S. Customs and Border Protection Deputy Commissioner Douglas Browning has left Science Applications International Corp. to join Sandler & Travis Trade Advisory Services Inc. as senior vice president for global border modernization.
Browning, who retired from CBP almost one year ago, will manage the expansion of the company’s trade compliance, security and project management consulting services to foreign governments and companies overseas. He will also serve as an advisor to the affiliated law firm of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg.
SAIC produces mobile and fixed gamma-ray equipment used by CBP and other customs authorities to scan full truck trailers and sea containers for weapons, contraband and other manifest discrepancies. It also sells optical character recognition systems used by port and rail terminals to identify and process trucks, drivers and cargo. Browning was senior vice president of strategic trade and supply chain solutions at SAIC.
