SAS cargo triples all-cargo flights from U.S. to Scandinavia
Scandinavian Airlines’ cargo division said it will use space on Korean Air Cargo and Singapore Airlines Cargo 747 freighters to supplement the airlines belly capacity on passenger flights to Scandanavia.
SAS Cargo will begin offering departures on Singapore Airlines Cargo Friday from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Copenhagen, Denmark starting Friday. Monday departures from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to Oslo, Norway will start June 7, the airline said.
The combined flights will increase SAS Cargo’s capacity by 64 tons each week.
SAS Cargo signed a similar space-sharing agreement with Korean Air in September for weekly service from New York to Copenhagen. Under that agreement, SAS reserves about 50 tons per flight.
SAS Cargo and Singapore Airlines are part of the four-member WOW cargo marketing alliance. Korean Air is not.
