Schenker, BAX Global to start U.S./Germany flights
Schenker and BAX Global will June start scheduled flights between Schenker’s air freight hub in Hahn, Germany and BAX Global’s hub in Toledo, Ohio.
“The new flight will add to the integrated services we already offer to our customers on a global basis,” said Thomas Mack, Schenker’s vice president air freight. “It is part of our global network that we will continue to develop. Our next focus will be the development of a similar product on the Transpacific trade lane.”
Schenker and BAX Global are both part of DB Logistics, the transportation and logistics division of German state-owned rail operator Deutsche Bahn AG. Deutsche Bahn acquired BAX Global from The Brink’s Co. for $1.1 billion in December.
“As a first result of our integration with BAX Global, we can now offer the complete service from door to door in one hand,” said Thomas Lieb, member of the management board of DB Logistics in charge of global air and sea freight.
