SCHENKER, SEINO FORM JOINT VENTURE IN JAPAN

   The boards of management of Schenker Japan Ltd. and Seino Transportation Co. in Japan have agreed to form a joint venture company in Japan, Schenker-Seino Japan Ltd., effective April 1.

   Schenker Inc. said it would use its global network of offices to support the venture's international client base. As part of the venture, Seino America Inc., which had operated in seven major U.S. cities, has ceased operations. Schenker USA has established at each of its major gateway offices a business department devoted to servicing the U.S./Japan trade route.

   'Strengthening the U.S./Japan trade lane is key to Schenker's global strategy,' the company said Monday. 'This is a great opportunity to grow the Schenker U.S.-Schenker/Seino Japan trade.'
