SCHENKER TO PROVIDE LOGISTICS SUPPORT FOR TIMBERWEB
Schenker AG said it will enter into a partnership with TIMBERWeb PLC to provide logistics support for the online electronic trading platform for the business-to-business timber/lumber market.
Through TIMBERWeb's Ariba Dynamic Trade eTrader platform, customers can arrange for logistics and freight forwarding directly after completing a deal.
It “gives traders the reassurance that logistics for contracts made via the eTrader can be arranged simply and quickly,” said Keith Richmond, chairman and chief executive officer.”Having completed the deal, trades will be only one click of a mouse button from logistics support.”
“This project will enable Schenker to improve our existing platform-activities and will strengthen our position in the timber and lumber market,” said Hakan Larsson, CEO of Schenker AG.
