SCHNEIDER LOGISTICS OFFERS COLLABORATIVE BID PROCESS
Schneider Logistics Inc. has released SUMIT CVA, a collaborative transportation bid process for securing long-term freight contracts.
SUMIT CVA is a multi-round auction format, which enables pre-qualified carriers to view a shipper's transportation requirements and identify and bid on packages of lanes that best optimize their assets.
Carriers are able to enter their rates, create packages and bids, review specific service requirements of the freight and analyze bid results in Microsoft Excel-based format.
The process offers conditional bidding, which allows carriers to define bid acceptance conditions between lane packages to provide flexibility and keep carriers from over-committing assets.
'The CVA process is simply a better way to procure freight than manual RFQs or e-logistics reverse auction bidding because it allows the buyer and seller to leverage their existing networks to develop strategic transportation solutions that work for both parties,' said George Grossardt, vice president of alliance services for Green Bay, Wis.-based Schneider Logistics.
