Scioli, head Baltimore port spokeswoman, dies
Judith Scioli, communications director for the Maryland Port Administration, died Jan. 19 of breast cancer. She was 59.
According to a Jan. 21 Baltimore Sun obituary, Scioli began her career in the early 1980s as freelance writer. By 1990, she had become vice president of editorial operations for Connection Newspaper Group, a publisher of 16 weekly newspapers.
In 1994, she served as spokeswoman for Montgomery County, Maryland’s Executive Neal Potter. In 1996, she served a two-year period as spokesman for then Maryland Gov. Parris Glendening. Scioli moved over to the Maryland Port Administration’s communications office in 1998.
