Sea Star buys 300 containers, 200 chassis
Jacksonville-based Sea Star Line is buying 300 new containers and 200 supporting chassis for use in the North America to Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands trade.
Of the new containers, 100 will be 53-foot containers, 100 will be 40-footers, 50 will be 20-footers, and 50 will be 45-foot refrigerated containers, with the new chassis comparably apportioned.
Sea Star said it will begin taking delivery of the containers and chassis’ from early March, and expects to have all new equipment fully deployed by mid April.
