SEABOARD MARINE, MEDITERRANEAN SHIPPING FORM CARIBBEAN LINKS
Seaboard Marine said it will enter into a connecting carrier agreement with Mediterranean Shipping Co. later this month to use Freeport, Bahamas as a hub to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Haiti, Antigua, Barbados, Trinidad, Guyana and Suriname through Seaboard's Caribbean service.
Three weekly services will be offered as a result of this agreement, Seaboard said. Each service will use a Seaboard vessel making initial calls at Miami and Freeport. The first service will call at Rio Haina, Dominican Republic. The second will serve Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The third vessel will serve Antigua, Barbados, Jamaica and Pt. Lisas, Trinidad.
Seaboard's existing feeder vessels from Trinidad will continue to provide service to Georgetown, Guyana and Paramaibo, Suriname.
