SeaSecure’s Petersen appointed to Florida security committee
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Coast Guard have announced the appointment of Kim E. Petersen to the area maritime security committee for southern Florida.
Petersen, president of security and counter-terrorism consultants SeaSecure LLC, is the only private sector committee member, SeaSecure said.
The area maritime security committee brings expert and experienced representatives from government and industry together to continually assess security risks to the region’s ports and determine appropriate risk mitigation strategies. The committee will also develop, revise and implement an area maritime security plan for the region, and serve as the mechanism by which security threats and changes in maritime security levels are communicated to port and ship stakeholders, SeaSecure said.
