Senate Commerce Committee approves FMC nominations

The Senate Commerce Committee Thursday passed by voice vote the nominations for Federal Maritime Commission commissioners Paul Anderson and Joseph Brennan.

Brennan has served on the FMC commission since 1999 and will serve a second term.

President Bush nominated Anderson about a year ago. He worked for nine years at Hvide Marine, a Port Everglades, Fla.-based company involved in tanker, offshore supply vessel, and barge and tugboat operations. He most recently served as vice president of government relations for an automotive distributor.
