SHIP OPERATIONS COOPERATIVE PROGRAM FORUM TO DISCUSS SECURITY
The Ship Operations Cooperative Program, a Washington, D.C.-based private/public maritime partnership, will discuss security issues at a meeting scheduled for March 5-6 in San Diego, Calif.
An official from the newly-formed Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Maritime Administrator William Schubert and other speakers will address the meeting.
The Ship Operations Cooperative Program said that a senior representative from the Department of Homeland Security will provide insight into this critical department’s evolution and future direction.
Schubert will discuss the effect on the mission of MarAd and the Department of Transportation as a result of the U.S. Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration transferring to the Department of Homeland Security, and the future role MarAd will play in maritime security.
