SHIPCHEM CHANGES NAME TO CENDIAN

ShipChem Inc., the leading logistics portal for the chemical industry, has changed its name to Cendian Corp.

The company was founded in 2000 as a joint venture between chemical giant Eastman Chemical Co. and software developer Global Logistics Technologies Inc. Armed with Eastman's roughly 4-billion kilograms of outbound freight, the venture quickly built support from shippers, intermediaries and carriers.

Atlanta-based Cendian has more than $1 billion in purchasing power, providing logistics services for all shipping modes and throughout the chemical logistics supply chain. It provides a network of more than 300 preferred logistics service providers worldwide.

The company collaborated with branding and design consultancy Landor Associates in creating the new name and accompanying corporate identity.

'Our company is a trusted business partner for our clients, and our new corporate identity reflects the unique and important role that we play in helping them compete in today's business environment,' said Mark A. Kaiser, chief executive officer of Cendian.
