Non-vessel-operating common carrier Shipco Transport will introduce direct freight consolidation services from Shanghai and Ningbo, China to Boston.
Shipco, which set up in the Boston market less than a year ago, plans to further develop its presence in the New England region by adding more direct services both for imports and exports, the NVO said.
Shipco’s Shanghai-to-Boston service will be in connection with carrier Hanjin leaving on Thursdays with a transit time of 31 days. The first sailing will be on Oct. 27. The Ningbo-to-Boston service has a transit time of 30 days and is with carrier COSCO sailing on Fridays. The service will begin with the Oct. 28 sailing. The NVO now offers 22 direct services from Shanghai and 17 from Ningbo into the US and Canada.
Shipco is a subsidiary of Scan-Group, an international shipping and transportation company based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and has more than 2,000 employees worldwide.
