Shipco strengthens business to India
Shipco Transport has appointed Natvar Parikh Industries Ltd. to serve as its new agent in India.
Klaus Jepsen, president of the Hoboken, N.J.-based neutral freight consolidator, said India remains an important emerging market for both imports and exports.
Shipco provides direct less-than-containerload services to Mumbai and Nhava Sheva. The consolidator looks forward to expanding its range of export services through the new agency arrangement with NPIL.
NPIL provides ocean freight services from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Calcutta, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Jaipur and Jodhpur.
“While our focus is of course global, we see Shipco’s strong presence in the U.S. market as an opportunity for us to expand our export services in this key trade lane, while doing the same for Shipco in our home market,” said Sujan A. Parikh, executive director of NPIL.
