SKYTEAM CARGO LEADERSHIP TEAM APPOINTED
Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air have appointed the executive leadership to head up SkyTeam Cargo USA, the U.S. air cargo joint venture to be launched later this year.
Bernard Frattini will serve as the joint venture’s chief executive officer. Frattini, who has been with Air France since 1978, vice president of Air France Cargo for North America. At SkyTeam Cargo, he will be responsible for the oversight of all joint venture functions, reporting to the joint board of directors.
Tom Nolan has been appointed vice president of sales and marketing for SkyTeam Cargo USA. Nolan will be responsible for all sales and marketing activities, including the supervision of a combined sales team of Air France, Delta and Korean Air. Nolan is Delta Air Logistics' general manager of national account sales.
Jin-Hong Kim has been named vice president of network service for the joint venture. He will be responsible for revenue, pricing and booking strategies. He will also oversee the operation of the reservations center and internal customer support. Kim is head of Korean Air Cargo’s New York office.
The new company, SkyTeam Cargo USA, will be equally owned by Air France, Delta and Korean Air, and governed by a joint board of directors. Tony Charaf, senior vice president of Delta Air Logistics, will serve as the company’s first chairman of the board.
Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air together with Aeromexico and CSA Czech Airlines, are founding members of SkyTeam Cargo, a global cargo alliance founded last year to rival a competing alliance founded Lufthansa Cargo, Singapore Airlines Cargo and SAS Cargo.
