SNAP off Jan. 15, replaced with new version
The U.S. Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security warned exporters that the old version of its Simplified Network Application Process, better known as SNAP, will be shut off Jan. 15, marking its official replacement with the redesigned version SNAP-R.
The agency said the enhanced program offers exporters more security, improved electronic document submission for licenses, user rights and work item reuse. It also allows BIS licensing officers the ability to more efficiently conduct their licensing reviews.
SNAP-R is available online at https://snapr.bis.doc.gov. For more information, send an e-mail to BIS at snapr@bis.doc.gov or call (202) 482-2227.
