Sony Ericsson begins construction on Beijing plant
Mobile phone manufacturer Sony Ericsson on Monday began construction of a factory in Beijing that will serve as the company's global manufacturing base, Xinhua reported.
The 18,500-square-meter facility will sit between two factories of Chinese mobile manufacturers that Sony Ericsson has bought or taken control of the past three years. One of the companies, Beijing Se Putian Mobile Communications, already produces one-third of Sony Ericsson's global manufacturing volume.
