Rates measured by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange’s Shanghai Containerized Freight Index fell from Shanghai to Europe, the Mediterranean and the United States.
The Shanghai Shipping Exchange’s Shanghai Containerized Freight Index fell 3.3 percent since last Friday’s reading of 894.43 to a reading of 865.03.
Since last week, rates from Shanghai to Europe fell 3.5 percent, from $996 per TEU to $961 per TEU, while rates from Shanghai to the Mediterranean fell 3.9 percent, from $988 per TEU to $949 per TEU.
Meanwhile, rates from Shanghai to the U.S. West Coast fell 7.9 percent, from $1,555 per FEU to $1,432 per FEU, while rates from Shanghai to the U.S. East Coast fell 5.3 percent, from $2,567 per FEU to $2,432 per FEU.
