STATE TO REVIEW CMI’S COGSA DRAFT
The U.S. State Department’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law will hold a study group meeting in Washington on Jan. 9 to review the Comite Maritime International’s draft of the International Carriage of Goods by Sea.
The purpose of the meeting is to help the State and Transportation Department to determine the U.S. negotiating position for the first session of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law’s working group on the CMI draft, which will be held in New York on April 15-26.
A copy of the preliminary draft convention will be available shortly on UNCITRAL’s Web-site: http://www.uncitral.org.
