Stevens Shipping to operate under MTC brand
MTC Holdings said it will bring Stevens Shipping & Terminal Co., its U.S. Southeast contract stevedore and terminal operating subsidiary, under the Marine Terminals Corp. brand, effective Jan. 1.
MTC, which provides stevedoring, terminal operations and related cargo handling services in 26 U.S. West Coast locations, acquired Stevens Shipping in May 2001. Stevens began operating in the U.S. Southeast in 1930, and operates in ports in Wilmington, N.C.; Charleston, S.C.; Brunswick and Savannah, Ga.; and Jacksonville, Fla.
'The MTC East Coast business will continue to maintain headquarters in Savannah, Ga., and operate as a separate subsidiary,' said Douglas Tilden, MTC president and chief executive officer.
Alfred C. Giannetti, MTC Holdings executive vice president, has been named to head the East Coast business from the Savannah executive office, located at 145B Southern Blvd., Savannah, Ga. 31405.
