Stolt-Nielsen acquires specialized tank container business
Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group, a subsidiary of the Scandinavian company Stolt-Nielsen S.A., said today that it has acquired Ermefer, the “food-grade” container business of Ermewa S.A., a Swiss company specialized in transportation and logistics of bulk products.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The transaction, along with other actions, will add nearly 300 tank containers to Stolt’s food-grade fleet. Stolt said the takeover of the Ermefer fleet will result in significant operational efficiencies, while increasing Stolt’s presence in the food-grade market.
With about 18,000 tank containers, Stolt Tank Containers is the world’s largest door-to-door tank container operator.
