STONIER LAUNCHES PROGRAM OFFERING OFF-PEAK ACCESS
Stonier Transportation Group, a provider of freight forwarding and transportation management services, has introduced a Guaranteed Load Tendering Program, which offers carriers access to freight during off-peak shipping periods.
For carriers who agree to accept “x” number of loads offered to them in September through December 2002, Stonier will agree to offer those carriers the same number of loads from January through April 2003.
The program is variable, so the number of loads will differ according to carrier equipment availability and established rates, Stonier said in a statement.
In February, Stonier announced a similar program for shippers, guaranteeing them access to transportation services during peak seasons by offering a comparable number of loads during off-peak seasons.
“Any dispatcher who has been faced with a shortage of freight after the Christmas holiday will appreciate a program like this,” said Thomas W. Piatak, president and chief operating officer of Stonier Transportation Group, which is based in Jacksonville, Fla.
