Sustained traffic growth at Hamburg port in first half
The port of Hamburg’s container traffic rose 12 percent to 3.8 million TEUs in the first half of the year, as it enjoyed strong growth in China/Far East traffic and in the Baltic Sea trade.
For the first six months of the year, the German port also reported total traffic of 60.4 million tons, up 9 percent, including container volume, conventional general cargo and bulk cargoes.
“With these figures, Hamburg continues its above average expansion in comparison to the other European seaports for the sixth year in a row,” the port of Hamburg said in a statement.
