TACA CARRIERS RAISE U.S. WEST COAST/NORTH EUROPE RATES
The Trans Atlantic Conference Agreement has announced an increase of $240 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot or 45-foot box in its eastbound West Coast tariff rates, effective Jan. 1.
The increase applies to shipments from the U.S. West Coast to northern Europe.
For less-than-containerload shipments, rates will go up by $15 per freight ton.
TACA said that the increase is needed to improve the viability of rates relative to service offered.
The carriers of the TACA conference are Atlantic Container Line, Hapag-Lloyd, Mediterranean Shipping Co., Maersk Sealand, NYK, OOCL and P&O Nedlloyd.
