Meritor, Inc. is growing its manufacturing footprint in India by 25 percent with a $36.5 million axle assembly facility at Automotive Axles, its joint venture with Kalyani Group in Mysore, India. Meritor also is opening a research and development center in Mysore.
Navistar and Daimler Trucks North America are recalling some severe-duty trucks because the axle assembles were not properly lubricated at a Meritor plant.
Dana Inc. (NYSE: DAN) beat Wall Street’s consensus revenue expectations of $1.91 billion for the fourth quarter of 2018.
Dana has introduced a new series of axles to replace its 170 Series, further reducing weight for fleets. The new lines features the Spicer S172 single drive axle for Class 7 and 8 vehicles and the D172 tandem axle for construction, heavy haul and vocational vehicles.
