Tailwind offers e-manifest for truckers
Tailwind Management Systems said it has partnered with Oceanwide Inc. to offer an electronic manifest capability for truckers to file their documents with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Vancouver, British Columbia-based Tailwind has bolted Oceanwide’s e-manifest technology to its carrier management system so that customers can enter the data and Oceanwide’s software will edit the information and transmit it in the correct format to CBP.
CBP is gradually expanding its e-manifest capability to land ports of entry and eventually will require all manifests to be transmitted in advance by electronic means.
