Takahashi appointed NYK’s Japanese representative in Turkey
NYK Line (Europe) Ltd. has appointed Atsushi Takahashi as its Japanese resident representative in Istanbul, Turkey.
From April 1, Takahashi will be located with NYK’s local Istanbul representative, Benhur Bayrak, in the offices of its Turkish agent Catoni.
“In the past NYK had a substantial presence in this region in support of its direct services, but scaled down its presence when conventional services were withdrawn from the area,” said Ken Miyoshi, NYK Line (Europe) Ltd.’s managing director. “We see Mr. Takahashi’s appointment as clear signal of NYK’s commitment to refocus on the East Mediterranean growth region where our liner services have developed particularly strongly in the last 12 months.”
Takahashi will also be responsible for other divisions of the NYK Group in the Balkans, Black Sea, Caucasus, East Mediterranean and North Africa.
