TANKER COLLIDES WITH BULK CARRIER NEAR SINGAPORE

The “Lance Naik Karam Singh PVC,” a 37,855-gross-ton oil tanker registered in India, collided with the “Sea Epoch,” a 37,711-gross ton bulk carrier registered in Panama Tuesday morning within the territorial waters of Singapore.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, a rupture in the No. 7 starboard tank of the “Lance Naik” caused a spill of 19 tons of light crude oil.

The “Sea Epoch’ received minor damage to its bow. No injuries were reported on either vessel. The authority said the spilled oil was cleaned up before it reached nearby islands or mainland Singapore.
