TECO TRANSPORT ADDS U.S.-FLAG BULK SHIP TO COASTAL OPERATIONS
TECO Transport has started operating a U.S.-flag 40,000-ton bulk carrier in its Gulfcoast Transit fleet this week.
The vessel, “Sheila McDevitt,” was bought by TECO Transport in February. It is the third ship added to the company’s fleet, which also includes 13 oceangoing tug and barge units.
The “Sheila McDevitt” will handle new transportation business for Gulfcoast Transit, sailing between the Pacific, Gulf and Atlantic coasts of the United States.
TECO Transport other businesses include Mid-South Towing and Electro-Coal Transfer. The company is a subsidiary of TECO Energy Inc., a $2.3 billion revenue energy holding company based in Florida.
