Thamesport handles 8,100-TEU ship
The port of Thamesport in the United Kingdom recently handled its largest ever vessel, the newly built 8,100-TEU “LT Cortesia.”
The vessel is operated by Evergreen subsidiary Lloyd Triestino on the weekly Asia/Europe China-Europe-Mediterranean (CEM) service. Evergreen and sister company Hatsu Marine are partners on the CEM loop.
The 334-meter “LT Cortesia” is one of eight 'C' type vessels being introduced on the CEM service in the coming months to replace the 5,600-TEU 'U' type vessels currently deployed.
