Three crew lost in Atlas Air crash

A Boeing 767 cargo plane en route from Miami to Houston Saturday afternoon crashed into Trinity Bay, near the Texas city of Anahuac.

   Atlas Air Worldwide, which was operating Flight No. 3591 on behalf of Amazon, acknowledged that there were three crewmen on board the plane when it went down. There were no survivors.
   The airline, which operated the cargo aircraft on behalf of Amazon, said it was cooperating with the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board during the investigation.
   Bloomberg news service reported that turbulent thunderstorms were in the area of the flight path into Houston. 
   Under long-term commercial agreements announced in 2016, Atlas Air Worldwide’s airline subsidiary, Atlas Air, Inc., operates 20 767-300s for Amazon on a CMI (crew, maintenance and insurance) basis and its leasing unit, Titan Aviation, dry leases the planes to Amazon. A 767-300 cargo plane has a maximum payload of about 25,000 kilos.
