TIACA STARTS AIR LOGISTICS LIBRARY
The International Air Cargo Association has started an air logistics library to operate as a research center and to provide a place for educators and representatives from business and government to meet to resolve issues and create policy.
The library, based in Miami, will house commercial, technical and historical information about the industry, TIACA said.
To start the library, John C. Emery Jr., former chairman and chief executive officer of Emery Air Freight, contributed corporate annual reports for the company dating from 1947 to 1986, original documents related to the start of the company in 1945, and other memorabilia.
“The history of our industry is extremely important and we must remember that many of the pioneers from the past are still actively involved and interested in today’s air commerce community,” said David Pierce, chairman of TIACA’s Education Committee
