TIBBETT & BRITTEN STARTS E-COMMERCE FULFILLMENT SERVICE
Tibbett & Britten, the U.K.-based international logistics group, has launched a pilot in the United Kingdom for an all-embracing support service for the e-commerce sector.
The one-stop e-commerce support product is aimed at both the B2C and B2B markets. It comprises “a complete package of services, including web design, order management, payment processing and customer contact management, in addition to conventional logistics,” Tibbett & Britten said.
Customers can select the full package, or just the elements they need to integrate with existing applications, it added.
Tibbett & Britten said that it is becoming the first major U.K.-based logistics service provider to provide such a service.
Tibbett & Britten’s first customer for the pilot is B2B start-up, lens-online.com, which started trading in October 2000.
Neil Mike Arrowsmith, Tibbett & Britten group finance director and chairman of its e-commerce strategy group, said: “We are providing a complete support solution for online businesses, with the competitive advantage over other intermediaries that by leveraging our asset base we can offer quicker time-to-market, improved cost-efficiency and greater control.
